SHMD Selected for TIPS Program by Ministry of SMEs and Startups; Accelerates Development of AI-Powered Cerebral Blood Flow Monitoring Device.
SHMD, an AI-based medtech company led by CEO Minyoung Lauren Song, announced on the 10th that it has been selected for the TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startup Korea) program, a technology startup support initiative by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startup Korea) is a public-private partnership program designed to foster startups with outstanding technology. Under this program, a private accelerator first invests 100 to 200 million KRW in a promising startup, after which the Ministry of SMEs and Startups provides matching R&D funding. Selected companies can receive up to 500 million KRW in R&D support over two years, along with an additional 100 million KRW each for commercialization and global marketing efforts. SHMD was recommended for the TIPS program by the KITE Investment Foundation.
SHMD is a company that introduced ‘Cereband AI,’ an AI-based stroke prevention solution.
Cereband AI is an innovative medical solution that combines automated cerebral blood flow ultrasound examinations with AI-based anomaly detection technology.
An SHMD representative stated, “The core of Cereband AI lies in its four-stage automated data analysis module,” and added, “This system automatically performs data preprocessing, statistical analysis, result visualization, and diagnostic modeling.”
They further explained, “It enables the rapid acquisition of high-quality analysis results without the need for professional personnel, making it highly practical in clinical settings.”
SHMD has signed MOUs with various secondary and tertiary medical institutions in Korea and abroad, proving the reliability of its solution.
Minyoung Song, CEO of SHMD, said, “With Cereband AI, we aim to lead the field of stroke prevention solutions and realize innovative, prevention-focused healthcare services.”
Meanwhile, the medical community considers stroke a disease where early detection and prevention are crucial.
AI-based preventive solutions like Cereband AI are expected to open a new chapter in early diagnosis and preventive care for stroke.
