SHMD Wins 2025 Korea Industry Grand Prize
SHMD.LTD led by CEO, Minyoung Lauren Song, a leading innovator in AI-based cerebrovascular diagnostic technology, has been awarded the 2025 Korea Industry Grand Prize in the K-Startup category. The award recognizes SHMD’s groundbreaking contributions to the medical device industry, particularly for its development of CEREBAND, the world’s first wearable transcranial Doppler (TCD) device, and BRAINCHECK.AI, an AI-powered cerebrovascular risk analysis platform.
SHMD is developing ‘CEREBAND AI’, a wearable device for self-assessment of cerebral blood flow using AI technology, along with ‘BRAINCHECK AI’, a mobile application for self-diagnosis of stroke risk.
BRAINCHECK AI leverages advanced AI algorithms to analyze carotid artery stenosis and signs of stroke in real time, providing users with an accurate assessment of their stroke risk.
Professor Jun-Young Heo, co-founder and neurologist, stated, “Since stroke is a condition where the golden hour after onset is critically important, the continuous monitoring system using Cereband AI and BrainCheck AI will be a groundbreaking turning point in improving patient survival rates and outcomes.”
